Goalball UK Annual Coaching Conference

The Goalball UK Annual Coaching Conference was held in Birmingham over the weekend of October 11th and 12th.

Workshops were led by GB Head Coaches Aaron Ford and Faye Dale and covered a range of topics including Orientation and movement, Coaching from the bench and Throwing and defending a bounce shot. 


GB Women Update

Unfortunately the Great Britain Women’s team failed to gain promotion in what was a tightly contested European B Championships in Hungary (24-28th September). In the group stages the team beat Belgium 4-1 and drew 3-3 against eventual silver medallists Sweden before narrowly losing their decisive group game to decide who made the semi-finals against Greece 2-1. The team finished on a high beating Belgium 5-1 in the 5/6th playoff.


Disability Sport Yorkshire awards

The annual Disability Sport Yorkshire awards were held at Elland Road in Leeds on Friday 12th September and Goalball was well represented both in terms of nominations and attendees on the night.

Saturday 25th October

Intermediate Region X: Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough 

Intermediate Region Y: The Lighthouse, Birmingham

Both tournaments will start at 10am and finish at approximately 5pm.

Spectators are welcome at any time throughout the day.

Next Goalball Leaders course: Saturday 8th November
